Sea cages are huge net constructions, floating in the sea and fixed to the ground with ropes. They are widely used for on-growing and fattening of all fish types, in particular sea bass, sea bream, salmon and arctic char.
Difficulty in treating fish in sea cages
Environmental challenges can also create a need for supplemental oxygen in sea cages. Warm water, stagnant current or other unfavourable environmental conditions such as algal growth can result in temporary oxygen insufficiency. A rise in temperatures reduces oxygen solubility in water, for instance. This can compromise fish health and increase mortality.
Oxygen on demand for fish in sea cages
We have developed an innovative solution specifically to meet the need for oxygenation in sea cages. SOLVOX® DropIn is designed for easy handling and operation, making it ideal for de-licing or medical treatments in closed sea cages. Thanks to its compact, lightweight design, it can be easily operated. It eliminates the hassle involved in dragging perforated hoses across the cage floor, also increasing oxygenation efficiency thanks to its innovative dissolver and distribution system. SOLVOX® DropIn is also an effective standby solution to accommodate temporary or seasonal fluctuations in oxygen saturation levels.
